The Musée des Explorations du monde, formerly the Musée de la Castre, fills what remains of the medieval castle that the monks of Lérins built at the top of the Suquet from the eleventh century – one of the few medieval buildings left in Cannes. Its collections, labelled Musée de France, run from the Himalayas and Tibet, the Arctic, pre-Columbian America and Oceania to Mediterranean antiquities and nineteenth-century Provençal landscape painting.

Musée des explorations du monde is a museum on Rue de la Castre in Le Suquet & the Vieux Port. The station Quai 2 is 900 m away (about 14 min on foot).
