Bellet is the far north-west of Nice: hillsides above the left bank of the Var where the vineyards of the Bellet appellation grow on terraces 200 to 400 metres up. It is the only AOC vineyard planted entirely inside a large city, and – with Palette – one of the two smallest appellations of Provence, and its most easterly.

The wine is a blend built on local grape varieties, made in red, rosé and a smaller share of white. Below, the Var plain and Saint-Isidore carry the city's newer districts.
