Mont Boron is the hill that closes Nice to the east, 191 metres high, and the residential quartier of villas on its flanks; it is usually drawn to include Mont Alban just to the north. Its 57 hectares of forest are the main park of eastern Nice, laced with paths and known for their views over the city, the Rade de Villefranche and Cap Ferrat.

History sits under the pines. The Fort du Mont-Alban was built between 1557 and 1560 under Emmanuel-Philibert of Savoy to guard Nice; the Mont Boron battery, a 400-metre enclosure, followed in 1886–87. At the foot of the hill, the Lazaret cave is a Middle Palaeolithic site, and on the western slope the pink, Mughal-inspired Château de l'Anglais of 1856–58 is one of the Riviera's great follies.
