The townspeople asked for a church of Saint-Michel in 1306, soon after the town was founded; in the eighteenth century the council rebuilt the crumbling medieval church. The Bishop of Nice blessed the first stone on 7 March 1732 and it was finished in 1757, on a Latin-cross plan with twin Tuscan pilasters; the architect's name is not known. It has been a classé historic monument since 26 June 1990.
