Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Consolation
A Romanesque chapel of 1090, Gassin's first parish church, at the end of a 4 km path

The chapel dates from 1090 and was Gassin's parish church until the present church was built in 1558. Romanesque, of stone, long in plan with a barrel vault, it hosts a mass each year for the village feast of Saint Lawrence. A marked path of a little over four kilometres leads to it from the village; a Latin inscription from the tomb of a Roman sailor of the Forum Julii fleet was once used as its doorstep.
Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Consolation is a building in Gassin. The bus stop Arrêt Montée Saint-Joseph (Gassin) is 200 m away (about 3 min on foot).
