Église Saint-François-d'Assise
Port Grimaud's ecumenical church of 1969–1973, after the fortified churches of Camargue
The first stone was laid on 2 November 1969 and the church opened in July 1973, shared by Catholic and Protestant worship. Its design follows the fortified churches of Camargue, Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer above all; a 16-metre tower with a wrought-iron campanile looks out to sea, and a single window on the sea façade is divided into 25 panels showing the phases of the sun. François Spoerry, the founder of Port Grimaud, is buried inside.
Église Saint-François-d'Assise is a place of worship on Place du Marché in Grimaud. The ferry landing Navettes Maritimes is 350 m away (about 5 min on foot).
