Tour Suffren
On the site of the tower William I of Provence built in 980

After driving the Saracens from the peninsula in 976, William I, Count of Provence and lord of Grimaud, built a tower in 980 to protect the town, on the site where the Tour Suffren – also called the Tour Guillaume – now stands. The lordship of Saint-Tropez later passed to the Suffren family.
Tour Suffren is a listed building on Place Raphaël Garezzio in Saint-Tropez. The ferry landing Saint-Tropez is a few steps away.
