The archaeologist Théodore Reinach and the architect Emmanuel Pontremoli, both philhellenes, built Kérylos between 1902 and 1908 on a rocky point over the sea: a house of Delos, built and furnished on the model of the Greek villas of the second and first centuries BC, with every comfort of the new century. Carrara marble, alabaster, exotic woods and lemon wood; furniture inlaid with ivory, bronze and leather.

Reinach left it to the Institut de France in 1928. Across the Baie des Fourmis stands the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, built by Béatrice de Rothschild, wife of Maurice Ephrussi – a cousin of Reinach's wife, Fanny Kann.

Villa Kérylos is a museum on Impasse Gustave Eiffel in Beaulieu-sur-Mer. The station Beaulieu Sur Mer is 400 m away (about 6 min on foot).
