La Malmaison
An 1863 villa on the Croisette, now the city's contemporary-art centre

The Malmaison was built on the Croisette in 1863 to plans by Marius Blond of Grasse, as the annexe of the Grand Hôtel; in 1901 Grand Duke Michael of Russia had it enlarged into the Cercle des golfeurs, the club-house of the Cannes-Mandelieu golf club. The city bought it in 1970, and it houses the municipal contemporary-art centre.
La Malmaison is an arts centre on Boulevard de la Croisette in La Croisette & Palm Beach. The station Cannes is 500 m away (about 8 min on foot).
