The garden was created after the Second World War in the ruins of the castle by the mayor André Gianton and Jean Gastaud of the Jardin Exotique de Monaco. It is known for its collection of cactus and succulents from the Mediterranean, Africa and the Americas, on terrain falling steeply towards the sea, with views along the whole coast; the landscape architect Jean Mus reworked it entirely in the winter of 2003–04.

Jardin exotique d'Èze is a sight on Rue du Château in Èze. The station Èze-sur-Mer is 750 m away (about 12 min on foot).
