Eileen Gray designed the house with and for Jean Badovici between 1926 and 1929; its name is a code – E for Eileen, 10 for J, 2 for B, 7 for G. Partly on pilotis, L-shaped and flat-roofed, with long windows and a spiral stair to the roof, it follows the new architecture while keeping room for comfort and privacy; Le Corbusier painted murals on its walls in 1938 and 1939.

Classé on 27 March 2000 and bought the same year by the Conservatoire du littoral, it was restored with its furniture rebuilt as it was in 1929, work finished in 2021. The site, with Le Corbusier's cabanon nearby, is run by the Centre des monuments nationaux, which organises the visits.

Villa E-1027 is a museum in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. The station Direction Marseille is 450 m away (about 7 min on foot).
