Around 1630 the lords of Villeneuve had a soap factory built on the shore, a two-storey building inside a wall; tiles and bricks were made here later, until the trade declined in the nineteenth century. A new owner then took off the factory's central roof and raised walls to give it the look of a noble house, and from 1913 further work made it a romantic residence.

After decades as a holiday centre for the gas and electricity workers' fund, it was sold in December 2021 and reopened in 2024, after more than two years of restoration, as a hotel.

Château de Théoule is a hotel on Avenue de Lérins in Théoule-sur-Mer. The station Théoule-sur-Mer is 650 m away (about 10 min on foot).
