Phare de Nice
The lighthouse at the mouth of Port Lympia

The lighthouse stands at the entrance of Port Lympia. Plans for a light here go back to the eighteenth century – a «tower of the Lympia lantern» appears on a plan of 1756 – but the first, provisional light was set up only in 1862, after the port entrance proved too narrow; Nice had its official maritime signal from 1865.
Phare de Nice is a lighthouse in Le Port. The ferry landing Nice Ferry Terminal is 400 m away (about 6 min on foot).
