Palais Lascaris
A Genoese-baroque palace in the old town, now a museum of early musical instruments
The Lascaris-Ventimiglia family built this palace in the first half of the seventeenth century, in the Genoese baroque, and kept it until 1802; its architects are not known. The city bought it in 1942 and opened it to the public in 1970, and since 2011 it has shown the city's collection of early musical instruments.
It has been a classé historic monument since 15 February 1946. Look for the opulent main façade on Rue Droite, one of the old town's narrow axes.
