Arènes de Cimiez
The amphitheatre of Roman Cemenelum, built AD 70–80, still used for summer shows

The amphitheatre of Cemenelum is one of the smallest known in Gaul. It was built in two campaigns, the first in the decade AD 70–80, enlarged in the third century and apparently abandoned in the fourth; it was excavated in the 1930s and 1940s and again in 2007.
It is open to the public and still hosts cultural events in summer. It has been a classé historic monument since 1965; the Roman baths lie to its south-east, reached through the archaeological museum.
